Pilaco Clinic: our community outreach history

Pilaco Clinic is the mobile outreach initiative associated with Conquerors Medical Center. In earlier years, its nurses and community health workers visited villages across Northwest Cameroon on different days, with a route extending from Benakuma toward Widikum. The medical center in Bamenda served as the base for that work.

The outreach model recognized a simple challenge: distance affects access. A person may need more than information about a clinic; they may need an accessible visit, an explanation of what can be done locally, and a practical referral when additional assessment is needed. Community health workers and nurses were central to the former effort.

Photographs in the gallery document that history. They are archival images. The vehicle pictured there is not advertised as an available ambulance or current transport service. Any future mobile program would need current staffing, transport, equipment, a defined schedule and appropriate clinical oversight. Confirmed dates and locations will be shared here if a new outreach schedule is established.
